THE YOGA PRACTICE

WHAT IS BIKRAM HOT YOGA?

Bikram Hot Yoga is a series of 26 postures for all levels, designed to warm up and stretch muscles, ligaments, and tendons efficiently and safely.

The 26 postures of Bikram Hot Yoga systematically move fresh, oxygenated blood throughout your entire body, reaching every organ and fiber, helping different bodily systems function correctly and healthily. As soon as you start practicing, you can experience benefits such as a balanced weight, increased muscle tone, improved health, and an overall sense of well-being. .

IT'S FOR YOU

You don’t need a flexible or athletic body to start practicing Bikram Hot Yoga, but you will see how, with each class, you become more so. Through the series of 26 postures + 2 breathing exercises, you will discover—at your own pace—that Bikram Hot Yoga is for you. Because what matters is not how you start, but how you finish. And with each practice, your best self will emerge: stronger, more flexible, with greater determination and mental clarity.

WHAT IS HAPPENING
DURING A BIKRAM HOT YOGA CLASS?

For 90 minutes, your muscles are contracted and stretched at a cellular and biochemical level. Lipids and proteins reorganize optimally during stretching, allowing for better circulation. Joint mobility and range of motion increase, and strength is built through the use of gravity. Muscles and joints become more balanced.

Oxygenated blood reaches your bones, and working against gravity strengthens them. The immune system’s organs within the red bone marrow are stimulated.

Lymph nodes are massaged, lymph fluid is pumped, and white blood cells are distributed throughout the body as the lymphatic system functions more efficiently.

There is compression and extension of the thymus, spleen, appendix, and intestines. The lungs are stretched and cleansed as blood circulation increases. The endocrine glands are encouraged to secrete the appropriate hormones, enhancing communication between hormones and various glands and systems in the body. Toxins and waste are eliminated through the excretory organs.

Nerves are stimulated through compression and extension, improving communication across all systems and delivering fresh blood, oxygen, and nutrients throughout the body. The brain is stimulated as circulation improves and blood pressure changes.
